i’m really sad because i miss my childhood……..?
I was a true 90s kid and i’m 16 now, i was on youtube and looking at songs and when i came across savage garden and the older 90s music i started loooking back on my childhood and i started feeling sad. I really loved my childhood, i was happy and my family was happy too it seemed lke the world was perfect almost then now music and movies nowadays suck. becuase i started watching movies like welcome to the dollhouse, 10 things i hate about you, shes all that and thoses movies it sucks because i wish people could some how bring back the 90s.. you know??? i miss my childhood really bad and i really hate it right now..not being a teenager but the world i live in now… now i wish i would have been a teenager in the 90s.. lol i probably sound crazy..
Well in the first place, those songs and movies are still around. You can still listen and watch any time you want.
Second, what you’re going through is a normal part of growing up. Sometime during the teens you lose that childhood innocence and realize that life will not be as easy as it was when you were a kid. This passes. The challenges are more than made up for by the rewards of self-discovery and independence.
Third, a lot of us feel like the world we live in is tough right now, and that it will be very, very hard to make things better. But as an older person who has been through this before, I can tell you that things do get better again. I thought the 70’s were good but hated the 80’s. Then the 90’s came along and things improved. Now we’re in a low cycle, culturally and economically. I truly have faith that this will not last.
FInally, if you don’t like the world you live in, create a better one. I know that sounds like a cliche, and you can’t change the whole world, but you can control your own life and environment. Find something meaningful to do. Look outside yourself and see the need out there. Help someone in some small way. It will matter. Surround yourself with people who are positive and action-oriented. It will help your attitude and sense of control. Think about what you want to do after high school. There is a world of opportunity out there – so much more today than when I was a teen. You can literally do anything you want. Don’t look back; look forward. Have hope. It will make all the difference in the world.
